Rick Ruch has been involved in the restoration business since 1982. He was employed with a well established company in Denver Colorado for nine years. Rick is the owner and operator of Advanced Cleaning and Restoration Specialists in the North-metro Denver area. He is currently performing every phase of water damage restoration. Rick has served seven years on the Board of Directors and is past president of Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaners Association. Rick has all IICRC certifications and is a Master Cleaner, Master Restorer, and Senior Carpet Inspector.

Rachel Adams has been involved in the water damage and environmental health industries for more than 15 years. She holds a dual bachelor degree in Environmental Health Sciences and Medical Technology (Toxicology) from Purdue University. She is certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and The American Industrial Hygiene Association. She also holds a Master Restorer designation from the IICRC through her training, dedication and field experience.
Rachel was founder and President of Indoor Air Management, Inc (IAM) in 1995 in which she conducted inspections of both residential and commercial buildings throughout the country. IAM grew to develop one of the leading consulting and state-of-the art laboratory serving the needs of clients throughout the country.
Rachel served on the Board of Directors for the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, Restoration Certification (IICRC) and was appointed to serve as the Technical Advisory Committee Chair for the development of the IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT). Rachel served on the committee to write and establish guidelines and updates for the standard of care for mold remediation, also referred to as the S520-08, Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation.
She has also served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Cleaning and Restoration Technicians (SCRT) and the Low Moisture Carpet Cleaning Association (LMCCA). She is an Associate member of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) and the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA).
David Oakes has worked in the field of cleaning and restoration since 1973. He owned and operated a full-service cleaning and restoration firm for 42 years which provided fire and water damage restoration services. David has worked on both commercial and residential restorative drying jobs in all capacities. He also does consulting for both insurance companies and restoration contractors. David is admitted as an expert witness in State and Federal Court. David is an IICRC Certified Senior Carpet Inspector, Master Cleaning Technician, Master Restoration Technician and is a Certified Restorer (CR) and Certified Mechanical Hygienist (CMH) by the RIA. As an IICRC approved Instructor he teaches the RSA 3-Day Restorative Drying 101 (WRT), Applied Structural Drying 201 (ASD), Advanced Restorative Drying 301, Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT), Odor Control Technician (OCT), and Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (SRT) courses.

As an Approved IICRC Instructor, Doug Heiferman has traveled the United States teaching textile cleaning and restoration courses for the past eleven years. He instructs classes on oriental rug cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, wood cleaning, leather cleaning, odor control as well as business marketing and management classes.
In addition to teaching, Doug is an IICRC Certified Master Textile Cleaner and was owner/operator of a successful textile cleaning and restoration company for 16 years. Doug has a diversified business background and has gained valuable experience working for corporations such as Lillian Vernon, Federated Department Stores, and Citibank in the areas of purchasing, inventory control, credit and collections, and finance. He has earned degrees in Business Administration and Political Science.
Doug’s positive attitude combined with a motivating teaching style makes him one of the most requested instructors in the country. He is well known for teaching his students how to be ultra competitive in today’s fast paced business environment through the use of advanced technical skills and innovative sales and marketing techniques.
As owner of DH Seminars, Doug Heiferman has trained and motivated thousands of individuals in the field of textile cleaning and restoration services throughout the United States for the past 14 years. He is a Clean Trust Approved Instructor and Certified Master Textile Cleaner and additionally holds certification in upholstery cleaning, odor control, water damage, repair and reinstallation, health and safety, and color repair. As a Clean Trust Approved Instructor he teaches a wide array of classes including Clean Trust certified carpet, upholstery and odor control technician. He also offers specialized training classes in leather, oriental rugs, tile and grout, wood as well as marketing and management seminars.
In addition to his passion for teaching, Doug provides consulting, business development and technical support services through his company DH Seminars. Craig Jasper is the Executive Director of the Cleaning and Restoration Institute and presents his “Double Your Profits” seminar to professional carpet cleaners in 120 cities each year all across the country.
Craig has been in the carpet cleaning industry for over 35 years as a cleaner and as an educator. During that time he has always tried to help any cleaner that has asked. It’s probably no exaggeration that he has spoken with and helped thousands of cleaners over the years.
Ken, a 1982 graduate of Elon University in Business Administration began his career in the cleaning and restoration industry in 1987 while performing restroom hygiene and sanitizing. After this beginning, he went on to own a multi-location carpet cleaning company when he began getting into the property damage restoration industry. Following owning his own company, Ken went on to work for several independent restoration organizations and several offices of a national restoration franchise, Paul Davis Restoration, to account for a 25+ year career in the cleaning and restoration industry. Currently, he owns and operates RITcon Disaster Services, a company that provides training and consulting, specializing in all facets of property damage and contents restoration, as well as being an IICRC approved instructor for WRT, FSRT, OCT, AMRT and CDS. Ken has also developed and is approved to teach Continuing Education Credit courses for the insurance, real estate and property management industries. RITcon also provides support services through long term industry associates for large loss, estimating, project management, job site supervision and equipment rental.
Ken’s experience from the field brings a style that is easy to understand and relate to by technicians, managers and owners alike. Anyone interested in furthering their technical knowledge in the field or desiring assistance to grow their business may benefit from a broad range of knowledge and experience.

Gary has spent 30 years in the cleaning and restoration industry as a business owner, consultant, trainer and executive. During his tenure, Gary has trained thousands of restoration and cleaning professionals in the principles of fire, odor and water damage restoration. Gary holds several designations and certifications related to restoration, to include AMRT, MR, CMRT and CIE. In addition to his technical background, Gary has helped more than 100 small businesses grow from initial startup. He has owned, managed or consulted with businesses that range from startup to more than $100 mm in annual sales. He is a graduate of Dale Carnegie Human Relations and Public Speaking, and past assistant instructor for this prestigious program. Gary is currently a Technical Training Instructor for RSA.
Steve has been a dedicated and respected individual in our industry for nearly 30 years. Prior to coming to work for Bridgewater Corp, Steve ran his own high-end residential cleaning business in Salt Lake City, UT and was very successful. Steve has been an IICRC approved Instructor for Bridgepoint Systems and has taught countless other classes, seminars and workshops covering nearly every aspect of the industry from cleaning and restoration to marketing and management courses.
Currently, Steve is the National Sales Manager for Interlink Supply and Bridgepoint Systems. Every day he consults with new and existing businesses on setting up a system for success. Steve is heavily involved in Bridgepoint’s ongoing R & D efforts and developmental programs and his knowledge and enthusiasm in the industry is very evident in the classes he teaches.

Bob Merkt is the owner of MEGA (Merkt Educational Group and Associates). He has been in the cleaning industry for over 20 years and for the last years he has owned and operated his own full service carpet, upholstery, hard surface floor and janitorial cleaning company – Kettle Moraine Professional Cleaners Inc.
Bob has been training for more than 12 years. He is an invited speaker at many industry events as well as a contributor to industry publications. Bon is a CMI Certified Instructor and an Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) Master Cleaning Technician, Vice-chair of the IICRC Floor Care Technician (FCT) Committee, IICRC Approved FCT Instructor, Past President of the Association of Wisconsin Cleaning Contractors (AWCC) and all-around good guy.
Bob is an instructor specializing in training the adult learner. He performs his classroom and hands-on training in an energetic, humorous and easy to comprehend style that his students enjoy.
